As to belt-drive lids, the replacement lid for almost every belt-drive Kenmore was a mid-80s style white powder coated lid until very recently when it seemed to go NLA. This covered everything from 1961 porcelain coated lids with the chrome handle to a BOL 1981 24-inch painted lid model. Sears would say "Though this part may differ from the original, it is a manufacturer authorized substitution" or something similar.
Probably the same has happened in the DD lids, the powder coated and the porcelain have all been replaced by some generic powder coated lid that fits all models.
My parts company just told me that indeed your Almond lid is NLA, though the white part is still good. I called Sears myself and was going to complain since so many of us have been bitten by their stupid site saying they have stuff in stock that they don't. The lady insists that the almond lid is in stock in one of their warehouses - not in stock in any stores, but are at a central warehouse where they can be shipped to your door.
Maybe this warrants a call by you to a person there to verify?
If you can't get an almond lid that way, I would try some used appliance places. Most seem to be littered with DD machines, some being Almond. If you're flexible on just what is printed underneath the lid, etc. I think you'll not have a hard time finding one, and at a lot cheaper price than new. I am certain there was an almond lid or two the last time I saw my source here in Charlotte. I'd be glad to go scavenging for you if you like.
