I saw a pic a couple weeks ago that someone posted in a thread of one of these mixers in yellow. Now I can't find it.
Does anyone have an ad or pic to post - I would like to see what the original bowls / beaters / and accessories look like.
Thanks!

Not a very good photo but...

Check out the top shelf, left hand side of the <Kenmore Wing> of my collection in Ogden. I'll try to remember to shoot some close-ups of beaters and bowls for you. The Kenmores were definitely unique in that only their beaters and bowls would fit their mixers! The bowls are not common, but they do turn up!

And that's just ONE shelf... Hubby is thinking that the workshop above the garage where the collection lives may not be sturdy enough to hold them all... lol

Might have been the yellow one I found.. didn't come with bowls or power cord and needs some work so now it'll just sit in a corner. Not even sure if that meat grinder was for it?

Kenmore Turntables

I was under the impression that the early Kenmore stand mixers turntables were the same as Dormeyer mixers and the later ones were like that of Hamilton Beach mixers. I have the large bowl from one of the later Kenmore mixers and it fits my HB models. I use the bowl with my Custom 200 models I found w/o bowls.

Thanks !

The pic that petek posted was the one I was talking about - thanks! looks like you are in the same situation as I am with missing pieces.

And touquoise dude... your mixer collection ROCKS! thanks!
I would love the close up pics when you get some time.
I know that the bowls for my Sunbeams will say Sunbeam on the bottom - and the Dormeyer bowls have that rough bubbly type bottom ... I am wondering how to identify the Kenmore bowls - do they say anything on the bottom?

Close, but not quite

The early Kenmore turntables looked a heck of a lot like Dormeyers but they were just a teeny bit off (larger, IIRC); the later ones did indeed look like Hamilton Beach but were not quite the same size as the Hamilton Beach bowls. HOWEVER, in the late 60's, the Kenmore mixers were pretty much HB clones and the bowls and turntables were interchangable.
Confusing that they chose to keep a unique bowl and turntable size, isn't it??

Thats what I like about Sunbeam Mixmasters....my mothers from way back when uses the same bowls as my oster kitchen center, so when I find bowls at flea markets cheap I buy them, cause I know they'll fit....different models thru out the years and yet the bowls stayed the same...I like that kind of concept from many manufacturers, interchangable like many washers and dryers...just recently the mixmaster has changed their bowls...dammit...lol

New Sunbeam Mixmasters

The new Mixmasters dont have the same quality, they are all made in China or assembled in Mexico. Sunbeam lost me when they quit making mixers that accept the juicer attachment. I am a Kitchen Aid convert! I have a K45SS and KSM5. The Beater-blade for the KSM5 works better than the original flat beater too! Why they keep advertising motor wattage is not an accurate way of indicating a mixer's ability!

Kenmore Mixers

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the old Kenmores were built by Birtman electric company, they were bought out by Whirlpool in 56 or early 57,I read about this in consumer reports and I cant remember the exact date,Sears instigated this so several products would be under one management, since Birtman was a small company, and basically made all sears vac's as well as mixers, they were able to buy them out,Birtman made Bee-Vacs as well as mixers under there own name,I have seen one of these,I think H B did make the hand mixers,I am not sure what happened after the merger.

Kenmore mixers

They may have been made by Westinghouse after about 57 or so,I wasnt very clear about dates, sorry, I have a 1950 K More that was built by Birtman and get this....it is almost a twin to a Kitchenaid..it has 1 beater and a v shaped bowl, the difference is the bowl sets on a geared turntable that acts as a brake the large whip type beater rotates in one spot, it dosent revolve aroud the bowl wierd huh, also the bowl is white plastic and it has a port in the front for a grinder or juicer, what I want to know is who made Sears ranges in the 50s and60s ?????
