My mom had the under-counter version in coppertone, it was her first dishwasher ever, and I was about ten. We used to do the same thing at the start of the dry cycle, steve1-18...we'd open the door, letting out some steam, turn over any of the lightweight stuff that had flipped and collected water, and give the rack a good spin, then let it finish drying. I would also sneak peeks at it while it was washing, to see the thing spin. I remember I really liked the sound of the water hitting the tub when I'd close the door and start it back up. Groovy dishwashers all the way.
