Hi everyone, does anyone know if this agitator could be swapped out for a Kenmore RotoSwirl ?

It can, but...
The roto-swirl is intended for standard capacity machines and this is a newer style large capacity. Water will rise several inches higher on the RS than it does normally.
A proper cap is essential to protect the short centerpost and seals from flooding. The caps and seals used prior to 1978 are NOT good enough. Proper caps were available in both white and gold that come with new agitator studs and later style seals. They are part number 285155 and 285156.

P.S. - regardless of what agitator is used, the auger in this machine appears to be broken. There are a number of them on eBay to fix this problem but if it is broken as it appears, it is probably sharp.

yeah, this should have the short post spin tub.....
one of those times where large and standard capacity agitators both fit....
Roto-Swirl would probably be on of the better ones.....
but also a chance to try different ones as well....

Agreed, at least for some folks.
This is a 1982 model Kenmore Limited Edition. They were available until summer 1986. The dryer looks to be lightly used, washer is nice but the triple dispenser needs cleaning as usual, and the auger I mentioned.

Could that agitator be replaced with a Whirlpool Super Surgilator?

Looks more like a shadow to me. I don't think there is anything wrong with the agitator.
I was thinking the same thing.....pics taken outside, and the sun shining through gives the image of a broken auger....
in answering the question, yeah the Double Duty or Super Surgilator would be an excellent choice for this machine

I emailed the seller asking if it was still available, I have a whirlpool Surgilator agitator I could swap into the machine, I didnt want to buy it if I could not swap it out, Lets see if he emails me back then i will go save the machine..

New addition to the family,
I saved the washer, I am picking it up tomororw, I will post better pics once I get home with it, cant wait to change the agitator to the Surgilator...

to you Christopher and to the machine! So glad it is going to a great home.
Interesting idea on the shadow, I can see what you all are saying.
The S. Surgilator will work fine as long as it isn't a super-tall one pre-1973, which is relatively rare. Again, be sure to use a new style agitator stud and seal if you plan to use the machine in that configuration often. The new stud does a better job sealing the air under the agitator, especially when the cap is loose. Air leaks here can cause the bearings in the centerpost to get wet, water to foul the gearcase, etc. and will allow moisture to rust the shaft splines.
The picture below I got from eBay. It has the best pic I could find of the seal and stud. This stud typically stays on the agitator when the cap is removed and maintains at least a lot of the seal. The older seals are loose as soon as the cap is loosened and air can leak quickly.
The Kenmore caps I mentioned above use the same stud and seal, just different plastic caps.
