I found a great junkyard/store near here and when I perusing the back lot came across a Kenmore twin tub I'd never seen before. It's a little more boxy shaped than the Hoover type and has two large wheels on one end and a handle on the side above that..think shopping cart. 3 dials on the top and a large blue plastic lift off lid covers 90% of the top, giving access to the washtub and the little spin dryer. Two of the dials are timers, one for the spin, one for the wash, the 3rd is the on/off. The model was something like 212000 and on the mfr's plate it only said for Simpson-Sears & Robt Simpson Co. which are/were the Canadian arm of Sears in the States before they merged about 15 years ago. Many times when a Kenmore product was also sold in Canada the name plate would say manufactured for Sears Roebuck and Simpson-Sears Canada but this one doesn't mention Sears Roebuck so maybe it was only sold in Canada?

Hi Pete,

I saw a unique Canadian twinnie on eBay over a year ago, and could kick myself for not bidding on it! It said "Kenmore Roto-Swirl" (of course), and as far as I could tell it was a clone of the UK Hotpoint Supermatic. Not sure what this one is though!

Did you grab it? Tell us you did! :)

Hi Austin..no I haven't grabbed it because we're living at my mothers till mid November and I have nowhere to put it. I don't even know where I'd put it when we get the new house because it doesn't have a lot of extra storage space, like a big empty basement to fill up. Not that that would stop me either LOL but what did was I only have my small car here, my partners away visiting his folks up in Newfoundland and took the truck. btw there was also an older maytag sitting out there as well. I wished I could find the camera, I feel nekkid without it!!!!
