Hi guys
A freind moved into a house with this washer in place. He asked for me to make assessment.
I know it not new, but it’s the newest I’ve worked on.
At quick glance..it has a fabric softener dispenser that I haven’t seen before
((no snap ring) and of course it was honked up with fabric softener that smelled like cheap engineered softener…anyway
I’m curious as to the year built and it’s capacity.
Currently looking for a decoder ect.
Any thoughts are appreciated

Hiya Stan,
Sorry but I can't help you too much, but if no one can answer your question, then what I've done is to google and pick through the online Sears Catalogs for info.
I'd estimate that machine at around late 1980s, but that's just a guess.

Thanks Dan
I figured it was worth saving. I owned an earlier 2001 model similar to this with separate speed selector and warn rinse option (warm warm) that I loved.
I’m not sure if his washer has anything wrong yet.
With the softener gunked up..I’m assuming it needs a good cleaning of inner and outer tub.

Kenmore direct Drive washer,

My chart says this was made the 12th week of 2007

Build quality on the direct drive machines really started to deteriorate into the early 2000s. It could still be a good washer. Just depends on the condition

We started to see a lot more rustic center post and rusted out columns on the wash basket and a lot more transmission failure by this time, the machines also had a much thinner tinner feel and sound, they were still great performing machines, however.

The best direct drive machines were from about 1986 till about 2000

Thank you John.
Was hoping you’d stop by and thanks for sharing ur observations.
I did see what looked like a yellow stain or ring on the white porcelain tub but didn’t look close. Thought maybe just needed cleaning ?
Time will tell.
I’m waiting for him to decide if he wants me to do the deep clean. If so..will hunt for rust.
