gasket
I've sealed 2 Kenmore tubs successfully with leaks at that point, without taking apart the tub from the baseplate. PErma-Tex Red sealant/gasket from any car parts store. I've done red goop inside the tub, all around that metal to rubber connection, 2 coats, and also under the baseplate where it pokes through. 2 coats. IT's far easier than full disassembly. And what I have also done, OTHERS PLEASE CHIME IN WITH ADVICE, is clean up where the rubber center seal surrounds the upright tube, and goop up some red gasket sealant around there too. And around those 4 bolts. When the stuff dries(read the tube) but before any re-assembly, put drain hoses back in place, and the pump, etc, fill the tub with water and see if you're all better.
OTHER KENMORE FOLKS ARE SMARTER THAN ME, read plenty of other advice. These are rock solid performers, long lasting machines, but can need some leak repairs as they head into their second generation.
