Does anyone here know if the solenoid that was used on the Whirlpool/Kenmore suds valve assembly was a standard industrial solenoid that was widely mass-produced?  The latest revised part number was FSP [COLOR=#cc0000; font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px]89346.  [/COLOR]
 
Mark I suspect it was. You should take it into Granger and see if they have one of similar size and mounting. You might have to rig one up with some hardware, but nothing that shouldn't be too complicated. Otherwise those diverter valve assemblies while rare are not all that rare to find.
 
Robert, I have a NOS valve but after some tests with old, somewhat rusted solenoid, there was electrical smoke and a seized solenoid plunger.  Perhaps I'll be in a better mood about this after I sleep on it.  I'm sure I'll find a usable solenoid one way or another.
