Good day folks,

I am surprised no one is bidding on these. They look like a very nice set. TOL Lady Kenmore set. Dryer looks to be electric. Price is certainly right at $50.

Hope they get saved.

Usually there are no bids until the last minutes then the sniping starts. I see many auctions that there are no bids but get sold at the last minute anyway.

Whoever gets these has some tranny work ahead of them if oil is leaking and the tub is sticking. I'm guessing this is around a 66 model. I wonder if it has the gold spankalator agitator like the very similar looking 67 model has? I love that aqua blue.

I hate it when EBAY sellers don't show an inside shot of the washer-then you can tell if it has the "spankalator" or some sort of other agitator. They are very beautiful machines though.

I had a friend in Dallas who her & her husband bought this exact washer (and the matching dryer) in 1965 or 1966 when they got married. Due to many overseas assignments this machine was stored some. It was running up until 1992 or so and when the timer went bad, I begged her to keep the machine as it aws far better than the DD she was getting.

I digressed, anyway, her washer had the last of the black bakelite rotoswirl with scrubber cap & detergent cup on top.

Corrected

I knew if I was wrong about it being a LK, someone would politely correct me.

What is it with some of you people. Geez.

Re: Some Peoples Problems:

Hi! lbcarguy some people are just "On the Rag Again" all too often. They want it to be made sure that they project their opinions and to correct others the wrong way, because someone made a little mistake, but I know that they really can't help themselves, they are just naturally that way almost all the time.

Anyway, I actually thought that the Washer was a "Lady-K" before I looked at it closer. They are a great Set, otherwise. I wish that I had more extra Money and that some of these wonderful finds would show up in my area, so I could be getting some of this luck more often as well.

Peace and Happy Kenmore Washing, Steve

No bids yet as of 6/18/05 11:38pm CDT. Tomorrow the sniping begins. It will be interesting to see what happens.

While we're on the subject.....

What is the difference between a Kenmore and a Lady Kenmore? This set is beautiful, and is surely worthy of the moniker *Lady* on her control panel.

Lady Kenmore was the designation used for a number of years on the top-of-line model in several appliance categories -- washer, dryer, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner. I don't recall if it was used on stoves and refrigerators/freezers.

Whirlpool used Imperial Mark XII or Imperial Mark 18.

Philco had the Miss America.

Wards used Her Majesty.

Frigidaire was Custom Imperial.

KitchenAid used Superba.

Please add any others you may know!
