I read the story on the new/old GE kitchen. I'm somewhat disappointed that they "rigged" the range. The re-use of the washer/dryer may have been it's only hope, but still...
Well, at least they have the look they wanted in the GE kitchen and if it's functional for them, it's all good.
Atomic Ranch magazine this month has an article on a couple who took the front off of a KDS-15 dishwasher and re-fitted it to an integrated Whirlpool (Ikea) dishwasher to keep the vintage look with "the performance of a new machine" inside. They did a great job and it satisfied their goals. Here's a link to the magazine but the article isn't online unless you're a subscriber.
TDUDE, how fab is that slide show! I watched it 3 times. We had the DW, toaster oven, 3 beater mixer. Growing up my friends house had the sunny yellow wonder kitchen, but w/o the wash/dry.
You Sir are a luckey man.
