I just won the auction on an Omega. I didn't think I would get it - a ridiculous $21 and change. It seems to be in good shape, certainly a candidate for rehab.

So now I am in the market for that emptor you mentioned...from the Heritage. I'm going to try hitting thrift stores for it, though. It's always nice to have something on the thrift-store list.

And speaking of vacuums and auctions, have you seen the blue convertible on ebay that is currently going for $91.00??? Wonderful.

You may want to check your local thrift stores such as the Salvation Army or Goodwill for Kirby vacuums and parts, have bought several including an Omega and Tradition plus a 1950's model Kirby in the range of $1.99-$5.00.

Anyone have some pictures of hoover up-right convertible tools i have several vacumns but don`t know what the tools look like are they Rare and hard to find ?? Thanks harvestgold

Congrats on the Omega, I just got one too, which I hope to have rebuilt. The Omega is special, I have an aunt who got one brand new for Christmas in 1975.

There were two types of tool sets for the Convertible. The classic rear conversion set and the 1977 and after front powerseal Conversion. Which type are you looking for?
I'd say neither type is overly rare, keep an eye on ebay or just watch your local junk stores, I see those tool sets all over the place around here.
