Ok, I know I'm suppose to be working on number 2 first but I had to get the floor down in this one first. It's starting to get cold here so we thought we should get a move on it.

First, let me tell you it was no easy task! We had to jack hammer a bunch of concrete out to level the floor. It settled over time and was bowed and cracked all to hell. Then we filled it back in and leveled it.
Since most floors are the regular checkered, (being the pain in the ass that I am) I decided to lay it in the diamond pattern. Cuts were a lot harder that way but oh well.
Before anyone says anything about the appliances, the Pink frigidaire is going down into #2 and so is the table and chairs. The 56 GE isn't painted yet.(Had to have a beer fridge)Plus, Gladys can't go down there until the floor is laid.
All the accent stuff is going to be yellow in #3.
Still have to finish the cabinets and counter top. Lighting and all that other good stuff.

I just thought I'd let you guys see something so you don't think I've been blowing smoke all this time!

That girl has taste.....

Gorgeous.

I'll be right over. I thought Iwas the only onne with multiple kithcens. HA!

Without the garage door opener at the top of the pic, i would have assumed this could be anywhere..

Bethann - all looks good - and such hard work!

So, when does the Iowa clan get to come over for some cold beers out of that '56 Frigidaire - and make sure that you're serving AFTER 1:00 AM. That barber's chair looks awesome! Can ya give me a cut? =)

Garage kitchen

Great job Beth Ann! Dean and Beth Ann do fantastic work! That will be such a fun room, and plenty of room too. You better find some vintage washing machines now,as your place in Indy could host the next convention! Dean just needs to plumb that kitchen for about....... 12 Washers. I am sure he won't mind, once he get used to the idea. (:

Keep up the good work!!

Bethann,
I think it looks super! I love it. Really love the floor!
What does your other "kitchens" look like?
I just love that you have the choice of what kitchen you want to cook in, and eat in that day.
That is wonderful!
Thanks for sharing!

Hey Bethann they colors are just WONDERFUL! It looks so beautiful! And what a great huge spot for a second kitchen, I hope to see it someday in person.

Bethann that is a beautiful floor!! It was worth all of your hard work. Can't wait for more pictures! Thanks for sharing. Terry

Well Bust my Buttons!

Collect Whole Kitchens what a great idea!

Bethann FABULOUS! And am I jealous of that 56 GE frige! I had one in turquoise once but could never get it to work. Don't cha love the copper swing out shelves?
I really like the look of the tile on the bias like that.
It's the kind of kitchen you can see yourself twirling across the floor with creamer in hand for hubby's coffee!

Lets all go over and play, I can load up AL into the F-150 this weekend!!

The "harlequin" pattern in the floor tile did the trick! As always, that type of pattern is best used in areas you want to appear larger than they really are----such as a backsplash or a tiny bathroom or a room with many changes in symetry ---- in this case making an open area appear larger.
Colors are fabulous too-----Bethann you really did it up! I'm ready for the party!

Thanks Guys and Gals

For all the nice comments.
Lets see

Greg: The garage door is located behind the house so it's very private. Your kind of in your own world back there.

Veg: That spot is where the cabinets are going! See the plumbing?

Don: Ben was right. That is a vintage barber chair. To make a long story short, I'm selling the salon. The front corner of that room is where I'm going to cut a few choice heads of hair. The room is big enough the two won't interfere with each other. When it's all done it will be the most posh, private, fun place to get a haircut.

Mike: Some collect washers, I collect kitchens. Gotta put em where you can!

Ben: The Iowa clan can come anytime! I would wait till it's all done though. The good thing is the kitchen and bar never close.

Bri: Hang in there! I'm sure yours will be next!

Petek: Neon will be going in the live room downstairs. That another project all in itself. Have to finish these first and recoup.$$$

Ricky: Would you mind coming to Indy and telling him that?

Brent: The main kitchen is modern. Lots of stainless. Kitchen 2 which is in the basement will be all pink frigidaire appliances. The floor down there will be black and white. The cabinets are white metal.

Steve: That would be a thought. Just service calls though. Stairs suck.

Robert: Your welcome anytime!

Toggle: Have to have heat. It's very warm and toasty out there. That is the first duct off the furnace so it works out well.

Jet: When it's all done maybe will have to do a video to that tune. Hopefully Al and Marley will get along. As long as he can hold his own we"ll be OK. She's pretty pushy!

Steve: You bet your butt we'll have a party! I think like Robert said before it will have to be a "Bake-in". Or instead of BYOB it will be BYOW ( Bring your own washer)

Wow , what do your neighbors think?

Complete with a peticure/shoe shine chair to the right. That is an interesting collection.
This was your big surprise. All this while expecting a little one? Where is the pink painted GE set?

BA, I just love that combination of pink and turquoise! It's like the ultimate '50s combination.

I forgot if there's going to be a dishwasher or not. Alice? Is it going to be yellow? I think yellow would look better with the pink and turquoise than say, Sherwood green.

Lookin fab!

Why in the hell does everyone think I'm pregnant? VEG! You started this didn't you? I gave birth to a kitten a couple of months ago ( Walter) that's about it!

Bethann-

That kitchen and especially the floor is stunning!
How would like to come visit Oregon and help me
do my garage floor? Your talent and hard work is
amazing and has really paid off. Thanks for sharing.
