If you depress the exclusive "Start Control" to unlock the timer before plugging it in and advance it to the rinse part of the cycle then start the machine, it properly power pre-rinses the dishes and warms up the load. Then advance the timer to OFF after the two rinses. Restart it for a full cycle and you will get much cleaner dishes. After the warm up purge at the start of the wash cycle, I unlock the lid, but barely open it to retain the heat and slip in the detergent then let it go through the cycle. 99% of the owners would not think to do this and either spent time hand rinsing dishes before loading or got inferior results.
