Kitchen aid Custom 21 won't stop draining

Tonight my kitchen aid Custom 21 won't stop draining. I try to manually advance it and it just keeps trying to drain, only stopping at the off. At some point while trying to figure out what was going on, it would only churn and churn no matter where I advanced it in the cycle. Then it went back to only draining. Is its brain shot? Anything to try? Thanks, Melissa

Could be a timer problem.  Experts here can advise on other possible causes for the issues you're having, and replacement parts availability.

Something stuck in the dump/drain valve will cause water to enter and drain out right away.

KD 21 series dishwasher

Does not have a drain valve, the motor Has to reverse for the machine to drain. Either the motor is stuck running in the drain direction or the hose is routed down from the machine and the water is just running out.
