Does anyone know the p/n of the water inlet valve/solenoid for the KDS-56? And a source for it?

The solenoid works, but the valve is barely opening. I have cleaned the wire mesh screen inside also.

The solenoid works on 120VAC, so if the original part is not available, it seems as if an equivalent would work.

Thanks

Not Hobart!

Hobart did not ever use a valve on a commercial dishwasher like the ones on the domestic machines. The plastic bodies were first seen on the 15 series and were exclusive, like I said, to the domestic machines. All the commercial machines always used and still do, solid brass brass valves. Co-incidentally, the KD10 thru 14's used brass valves when they were being built. Another testament to their common heritage with the earlier commercial units.
You can get the valve that John mentioned from Whirlpool,Sears or ebay.

KDS-56

I found a 4171000 inlet valve and installed it, and now water is entering the chamber. However, it doesn't seem to accumulate, and I suspect the drain valve is continuously open. The result is that the dishes come out very soiled.

If I quickly open the door during the wash cycle or prewash cycle, I see that water is exiting from the side port. Should it also be entering from the port on the top?

The original problem was a clogged drain line, full of corrosion. The result was the tub was filling up with water, and leaking out the front.

Looks like another weekend with the VOM and the dishwasher.

Any thoughts?
