Strangeness going on there. Why do they need the little clock on the counter when there is one over the sink? What's the well of the original dw doing sitting on the floor and why is it being shown if it has been replaced?

I wonder where they posted the sale... wonder if they sold the cabinets and countertop as well as the appliances...

My grandparents moved into a new home in 1956 in Pinole, CA that had a GE all electric kitchen with appliances just like these, only theirs were turquoise. They didn't elect to have the built in upper cabinet refrigerators, but they did have a built in GE washer/dryer in the kitchen next to the dishwasher. There were a lot of problems with the washer/dryer so GE gave all the new home owners in this developement a new set of GE filter flo washer and dryer and they removed to inner workings of the washer/dryer combo, but left the face plate installed nex to the dishwasher. I was facinated by this kitchen because grandma was the first person on either side of my family to have a dishwasher. I can still see her putting the All dishwasher detergent in the litte cup and closing the dishwasher drawer. I can recall going thru the model homes with my Mom, even though I was only 5 at the time. I thought those upper cabinet refrigerators were really special. I wanted my parents to buy one of these homes too.

I hate this story. He not only gutted the kitchen, but all the rest of the rooms as well. He had a personal blog showing the carnage, but he took it down. I suspect he received some serious hate mail. The idiot also posted the address of the home.

The kicker: he ripped out an authentic mid century kitchen to install a retro kitchen of his own design.

What an a-hole.

As I mentioned previously, the blog was taken down, but Google Images saves everything and I was able to find copies of the pics that were on the blog.  I can't believe he ripped out all of the tile work!  I'm pretty sure that he initially was just going to replace the appliances (hence the new dishwasher and the missing vent hood) and just decided to be an idiot instead.

I don't understand why someone would buy a nice example of a style of house and then rip it apart to change it into something else. I am not a real fan of post WWII houses, but I would never do this to one.

SAD!!!!Have an idea--have this IDIOT watch as his NEW furnishings are ripped out and fed to the LEECH RL trash truck.Bet the guy cringes each time the "crush" handle is pulled!Then put the orig stuff back!!!BUT you have to realize he bought the home-so -unfortunate to folks like us he can do with the house what he wants.That kitchen was so beautiful and complete except for the modern SS dishwasher.
