As a hobby I've started restoring some of the old Sunbeam Mixmasters. I find them
really well made.

Made in Chicago

Sturdy as can be. One of Chicago's finest industries during it's day...
I have a lot of Sunbeam in the house. Honestly, I don't think any of it ever failed.
Oops I'm wrong. My beloved Coffeemaster bit the dust about a month ago. Postmortem forensic evaluation revealed that I got water in the bottom when I filled it the night before. One Martini too many... sigh...
Like Mother like Son... My Mom damaged her Coffeemaster by immersing it sometime in the early 1960s. Well, SHE got HER'S FIXED at the nearby Sunbeam Factory on Roosevelt Road.
Sunbeam factory is a shopping mall now and so I retired my unit with honors.

Our resident mixer expert and Sunbeam fan Kelly (aka mixfinder) will be able to tell you everything you ever wanted to know about your mixer and Sunbeams of later vintage.

You did a beautiful job on that one!  Just like the one my mom had when I was a kid.  She was an avid baker and it finally burned out on her around 1970.

Oh My God Its You!!

I have seen your amazing work on different sites and admired all you are able to do.  As you know finding original beaters and Fireking or Glasbake bowls gets harder and harder.  I have three bins of pieces is parts and if you ever need anything let me know.  I have a chrome 10 that gets used every day and all day long when I am catering. I have back up parts when and if a part fails so I anticipate using it until my parts are too far gone to be fixed.  I currently have around 30 mixers and about 30 odd appliances of Sunbeam derivation.  If I see a good one I can't walk past.  It is an amazing honor to have you sharing your work with us.  Its a wonderful network of funny, caring and generous members and I am honored and proud to one of the few and brave that belong.  Welcome and come on in the Chowder's fine!

I don't understand it--in my area haven't seen ONE Mixmaster machine here.Mainly KA and Hamilton Beach. My Mom,Grandmom,Stepmom all had Sunbeam mixers-and the great goodies they fixed up with them.I just want a few for my collection and to use.Still looking. They don't ship well unless disassembled and properly packed-esp the base and bowels.the pictures shown here-the machines are so cool!!Esp the fire engine Red one!!All of the ones I knew of from childhood were white.

Ask and You Shall Receive

I have too many.  Let me know what vintage you want and I'll happily send one your way.

The red paint job looks great.

As for bowls I still see quite a few of them around at the thrift stores, Sunbeams and HB's as well as the odd Westinghouse bowls. I'm so crowded in with things now I'm scared to buy them anymore.

We did this model 5B in it's original color. I took the base to a NAPA paint store where they matched colors perfectly.
