KitchenAid Appliance Labels Covered

I've noticed on "Martha Bakes" that KitchenAid appliances such as mixers and maybe dishwashers have their brand labels covered with tape. If I recall correctly the labels weren't covered a few years back. I wonder what changed?

Could it be because there is some new law that if they are not sponsoring the program, they can't reveal the manufacturer ?

Covered brand labels

There's certainly no law that the labels would have to be covered, but there's all kinds of reasons they may be covered on this particular show. If people recall the all the original Jula Child shows had all the labels covered on everything she was using from food to appliances

There is something in the law about broadcasting a copyrighted name without permission. Several years ago Ty Pennington's build you a new house did one for a deserving family not too far from me. Every piece of construction equipment had to have the companies name and brand of equipment taped over, even though these contractors donated their time and materials. But since Sears was a major sponsor, the logos on their delivery trucks were not covered.
