What makes the difference between the KD-17 and KD-17A? For the Superba models, does it have to do with the extra button to the left of the center lock? My aunt and uncle had the KDS-17 that had the extra button.
The chart is great. My grandmother got the KDS-18 as a Christmas present in 1976 from my aunt and uncle mentioned above. Judging from the chart if I am reading it correctly, that was a brand new model.
The 17A has the energy saver dry (no heat) option. On the Superba, it's a little button on the left side of the handle and it's kind of below some of the action indicator lights. For the Imperial and Custom models, an additional button was added on the right to depress for no-heat drying.
Thanks for the clarification Bob, and also for the additional info on the Imperial and Custom models as well. My sister and a friend both had the Imperial models that had the extra button.
Wow, that's nice! At least, the front panel is. While I don't actually need it and am not really looking for one, if a stainless front for a 15 turned up here locally, I'd certainly pick it up.
