Kitchenaid KDC-14P in search of a pump seal

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Long ago and far away

The 077107-shaft seal disappeared from Hobart shelves decades ago. It was used on Hobarts "UM" series dishwashers as well as the larger sized KD dishwashers. The UM series ended production around 1979 give or take. And you KDS14 ended in 1963-64 and was replaced by the KD15 series machines.

It was a John Crane seal and the closest I can get to their stock number is a T-64 seal.
You may want to search for it under that stock number.
It's going to be a shame to trash such a good machine because of a shaft seal issue.
Good luck.

Thanks Stevet, appreciate that info on the seal closest type. I've been researching for days, but a 3/8" shaft is not a common size for a mechanical pump seal. It looks like the secondary seal part has failed, the ceramic looks good. Here's a pic of the machine - a custom model 14, in otherwise great shape, the tank and door insides look excellent with no rust. I will definetly find a way to get this one saved from the trash!
