I have a KDS18 that fills on prewash and rinse but not for wash. Is this because of the dual coil. The only replacement part I can find is a single coil???? Will this work???

Sounds like a timer problem rather than the water valve.

The new single coil valve will work. You'll just need to remove the wires for the second coil.

That's what i initially thought but It goes through all of the different cycles and if the timer was bad it wouldn't...

both of the valves open when ever there is a call for water. they are plumbed straight through each other. its a fail safe to keep the interior from flooding. If one was failing, you wouldn't get water at all if it wasn't opening.

Thanks for the input! I guess I'll find out... I unplugged the wires, cleaned the contacts, reattached everything and now it doesn't fill at all. I'll replace the valve. If that doesn't do it its off to the appliance store. I do like how this cleans thought.
