Hi Everyone,
Hope that your holidays are going well!
I have always appreciated vintage KA dishwashers.. My grandparents had a KDS-17 in their home and it was a workhorse. I've owned Bosch, GE Profile, and a Miele dishwasher in my previous homes. In my current home, I have a newer GE dishwasher which I chose because it was most "like" an older dishwasher in that it has a food disposer and not a filter that needs to be constantly cleaned.
I've been toying with the idea of adding a 2nd dishwasher in my kitchen for parties/holidays/etc. My GE does a good job, but as is the case with any modern dishwasher, it's cycle times are usually in the range of at least 1:45-2 hours. I also miss the older rack designs which seemed to allow for easier loading.
All that being said, I've been causally looking online for vintage KA dishwashers. My preference was always for a KA Hobart machine but I've come across a good looking/good condition more recent KA machine. I can't find too much about it other than a manual online which seems to date it to the early 90's. The model number is: KUDA230YWH which I believe was from their "Architect" line. The manual seems to show the standard KA features - adjustable racks, familiar lower wash arm, etc.
So the million dollar question... Do you think this is a good machine as it still retains the Hobart influence or should I be searching for something a bit older?
Thank you!
Scott
