I am in Hampton visiting Classiccaprice again and we just got lucky again. We found a free Kitchenaid dishwasher on CL and just picked it up. The ad said it works. It is a portable model # KPDC610S2. On the front it is badged a "Custom 21." It has the black front panels. What do y'all know about it?

There is nothing on it saying Hobart, so it may be a Whirlpool machine, but it is an early one. The interior speckled porcelain is in great shape and after I type this we may try to test it. The racks are also in good shape. There is some bending and wear, but we haven't found rust yet.

How do we remove the upper rack? I need to adjust the plastic flume in the back of the tub that gets water from the pump to the tube on the upper rack to feed the upper spray arm.

Pictures to follow,
Dave

Nice machine you have there. I would love to get a hold of a KitchenAid portable to have as a replacement for my Whirlpool.

I think that's a Whirlpool version. One can tell by the heating element. Since it's above the sump, it's designed to heat both the water and for drying. The Hobart versions have the heating element inside the sump, and a separate air heating element in the metal cased fan assembly under the tank. It's probably still a good machine, I just prefer the older arrangement.
