I believe what you have installed is a KDS23, which would have the PowerClean module in it and would be far superior to the KDS20.

One thing I did notice...the Superba tank's interior, seems like the gloss finish has deteriorated, especially the bottom. No chips or cracks noticeable. Is this normal wear or did the prior owner try to scour or chemically clean and caused damage? Is there a way to refinish the interior with a gloss coat? Thanks.

I think the dull interior is a fairly common thing among vintage dishwashers, and that it's usually an indicator of how much it was used or water hardness.
While the 23 series was the first to feature Whirlpool's improved Power Clean module, I'm pretty sure it still provides only a single rinse. The 20 series was the last to provide an additional rinse.
