Is the dryer referred to as a "frog-eye"?

It's a Kenmore washer.  Wonder if this washer replaced the matching washer to the dryer.  The 1957 dryer looks in pretty good shape exterior for its age.

They're both Kenmores

The Dryer as Bob said is a 57. The Washer is much closer to TOL than the dryer and is from the late 90's. Both made by WP and very good machines.

The frog eye Kenmore 30 amp electric dryers were not judged able to dry a washer load of laundry in the hour maximum time provided on the dryer's timer. The high BTU input gas model and the electric model installed on a 50 amp circuit providing close to 8000 watts of heat were judged satisfactory. The dryer design with the perforated back of the drum through which heated air entered at about the 11 o'clock position and exited at about the 4 o'clock position while the drum rotated counterclockwise allowed a significant percentage of the entering air to pass behind the drum without ever going through the load. John & Jeff know how to remedy this by gluing felt strips in two places on the fixed back bulkhead behind the drum close to the inlet and the outlet so that more of the air is forced through the drum. With the large gas burner and gas being relatively cheap, it is an acceptable dryer, but even with the modifications that can be made to make it more efficient, it is not an efficient dryer that you would want to operate today except maybe in the pacific northwest where electric rates are kept artificially low, which is where this is located. Funny about that.

WP/KM Dryers

It certainly says something about these old WP/KM dryers, it seems at least every month you see a model from the early '60s or older that up to being listed on Craigslist had been in daily use. The owners always seem to take it for granted too, "The dryer is older." Talk about well made, 60 years of continuous use and still ticking. Amazing.

60 Years Of Continuous Use ?

That is very unlikely, Many many users did not use their dryers much, this good old dryer probably saw about four AWs sitting next to it over its life time, including its matching washer that only lasted 6-9 years.
