I brought this 1973 Norge home a couple of weeks ago when I brought home the Whirlpool. Unfortunately, it's long past it's prime and suffers from a broken spring in the tranny. Given the condition of the whole machine and the work involved in changing out that spring (let alone availability of the part) this machine will eventually become part of a roll of sheet-steel. I'll save the panel for posterity, you never know when a good machine will come along that needs a woodgrain panel!

I also grabbed a straight-vane Kenmore agitator and a Speed Queen filter-dispenser combo. The 80's Whirlpool micro-convection oven is also from the same store - never out of the box $50!

Look! It's an 80's microwave oven in the Imperial forum.

No slap, Greg! That microwave has a Bakelite agitator, meaning it dates to around the late fifties. Quite the find! My microwave just has a Magic-Clean filter disc under the turntable...

Love that geometric Norge control panel. They sure had a penchant for square/rectangular timer layouts thenabouts.

So...does every load of laundry come out with free oil spots evenly dispersed throughout, providing just that touch of extra softness? ;-)

Jamie, I'll save the filter and dispenser for you but the agitator is stuck tight.

Nate, I suspect there is "an added touch of softness in every load" especially when you look closely at the flash pictures.

Peter, I'm not sure. There isn't a B-W label anywhere, all the tag says is Edison, NJ.

Bob, I don't know what I'm going to do with the WP micro-convect oven. I haven't taken it out of the box in three weeks now. Eventually I'll probably put it on top of a dishwasher and dust it rarely there is another WP microwave (no convect.) three Okeefe & Meritt (Tappan) micros and one Riccar micro still in the store cocooned in their original boxes. All 1980's models - I think the WP is touch-control, the O&Ms are number-wheel and I'm not sure about the Riccar's controls.

Question

Out of couriosity, does this model do a spin drain or a neutral drain? When did they make the switch to just a neutral drain, or rather a almost toal neutral drain with a glorious spin at about a quarter of the way full. i had seen recienly a video of a Norge time line with a spin drain and was suprized that it did that, kind of neat.
