I saw a supply of this brand at Rite Aid last week. I think it might have cost $1/bottle. Truly premium detergent! LOL Since then, I've been wondering...how bad is this stuff?!?

I am assuming it's probably like other cheap detergents: good enough if one is only washing something that's not really dirty, but just needs freshening, but it's probably not too terribly helpful when dealing with dirty clothes or bad stains.

There is...

Actually quite a lot of YouTube videos reviewing this stuff, and surprisingly; seems to be a good detergent.

(this woman is a little too enthusiastic - a recruit for AW perhaps :P

Now this woman - SashaMonique, must have purchased, used, filmed, and reviewed every single laundry product on the US market - here is the one for LA Awesome

I've used it when we had top loading washers, it's OK, but usually pretty sudsy. There was a version out for a while that was pretty good, was a very dark opaque blue or purplish color, and smelled a lot like original scent Gain. I found it in several different bottles (different color bottles and claimed to be different scents, it was the same) and the scent lasted a bit on washed clothes. The version they have out now is pretty watery and blah. Friends of mine use it and Sun exclusively, always in cold water (their washer is only connected to cold) and never sort anything... Yes.. Everything is gray and dingy.
