Hi,

I haven't been on here for a while. My Kenmore washer has finally gave up, or I have given up repairing it. So all the parts are free to anyone who wants them, you only pay shipping.

The unit works, the suds-saver works, the timer works, but the tube leaks and is useless. The basket is like new as is the agitator.

I will be getting my new washer on the 15th of this month (August 15, 2017) so if interested, don't delay as the installers will be taking the old unit.

Well some time ago, I had to do this to fix the shaft support. It rusted away so I used some PVC tubing, some RTV and screws to try to keep it working. This worked for a few years, but it has come undone again.

Also the tub had rusted around the mounting screws on the bottom.

In looking for a new washer, I spent about four hours on the internet looking something that would equal this old Kenmore. Well after all those hours, I finally decided that the best washer was in my basement!

I loved the suds-saver feature, the infinite water level adjustment, water temp selection and the many different cycle selections. It has a "real" agitator and a feature that will never be found on the newer machines, it has an automatic leveler on the rear support feet.

I will miss this old machine.

sorry to hear of this machines demise....

another thought would have been to locate another base, and switch the control panel over to it....

that's a beautiful machine.....

Speed Queens have 'auto' rear levelers,an agitator that resembles WP Surgilator, make a decent woo-woo sound at regular wash speed,and--at 5 years old 8/14/17--has kept me and my picky wife happy washer-wise!

Well the Lady is gone, in her place is a brand spanking new GE Hotpoint washer. Model number HTW200ASK1WW and it's no lady.

I haven't washed clothes with it yet, but have run it thru some of the cycles. Here is what I don't like about it:
1. There is no light.
2. The noise level during the spin is unbearable. If you are going to be in the same room, wear ear plugs.
3. No brake on the basket. Takes minutes for it to stop.
4. And worst of all, no fill and agitate during the rinse cycle. It just spins and sprays some water in.

One thing I have noticed is that there is a phone connector on the back of the control panel. I wounder if the machine can be hacked?

Phone connector is there so you can call to return this thing right away and then get the SQ which will correct most of the dislikes your machine cannot.

I don't mean to belabor, but why not a SQ? They are a washer lovers connect to the 'good old machines',do a good job and appear reliable.
