I'm posting this in the As The Tub Turns Forum first to give all the members who donated to the site first pick of this large litter. I plan on moving this thread into the Imperial Forum in a few days...

I received an email from a guy in New York State:

I am sending this email to inform you that we have many of the washers you are looking for and we also have, besides the complete washers, a large amount of parts which cna be used with these washers. We are located in upstate New York and are currently one of the largest reconditioned appliance stores in our area if you have any questions about our inventory of over 150 antique washers email me at [email protected]

Here are the pictures he sent me:

Great Googly Moogly!

We need a plan!

First, someone needs to go there and photograph and catalog each machine so we know what we're dealing with in an organized fashion. Then the floodgates can be opened.

Dibs on a WCI-58 (if there might be one)!
Dave

PS: I think I saw a 1975 Lady Kenmore in harvest gold (I've got one that needs work!).

OK - I have emailed the seller asking where in upstate NY they are located. They may not be that far from the Canadian border and I have no plans for Labour Day weekend... If I do get out there, I would take pictures galore - I solemnly swear on the holy Wd562N1G wiring diagram!!

What is this machine, it looks like a solid-basket GE, or maybe even a Easy built Westinghouse Top-Loader??? Is the control panel missing or are the knobs on the front of the machine???

I really don't know.

What a stash

At first, I thought it may be the Dorothy Street Warehouse, but then I looked at the email address. Siena College is famous around here, among Catholics. It's Franciscan, and near Albany.

Frigidaire heaven.[this post was last edited: 8/12/2010-19:47]

Look at all of those buttons on the Mark XII! Is that a Canadian Frigidaire in the picture below the A500 and maybe another one below the Tahitian Green Gold Crown washer?

Robert, it looks like a tiny bit of turquoise is showing by the 1-18 control panel next to the washer in question. Could it be some BOL machine with maybe a missing timer knob? It looks like there is some sort of differentiation in the top of the machine in that rear corner.

Can you imagine how much fun a drive-in to this place could be? Would the town survive? No doubt it would be an entire chapter in the town's history or hysteria. It would be something like when the "Old Man's" unit got their instructions to meet at the inn in Vermont in White Christmas.

Lookit all the glass lid thumpers!

WOW! Sorry, Robert. I'm more interested in that hot little glass lensed Maytag next to the washer in question! Oh for a U-Haul, the keys to the door and about an hour alone with that room!

Thanks Robert

That Whirly is one exactly like I found years ago here at my Launderall dealer and let go of. I emailed on it, have always wanted that machine back!

That red-circled machine is a BOL Kelvinator - I have the brochure somewhere around here. Tom might be right, missing the timer knob.

I remember when you guys went to Oklahoma, will this be another pilgrimage? I remember you updated us online, and posted pictures that very night. What a great group you are!!!! arthur

RapidDry

I would like a RapidDry as well. Someone should snag the lot and then bid them out to the group!

The red circled machine looks like a solid-basket GE BOL with the clock-radio control on the left side of the cabinet. You can see remnants of the base just to the left of the hoses, the control panel is not there. When they were solid-basket machines, the control modules on the washers and the dryers seemed to get moved around. They went to both controls on the RH side when they went to the V-12 series. That's definitely a solid-tub lid and top.

Awesome find!

I cannot wait to find out where the seller is located myself. I would love to have a 1-18 and I saw a few that I liked. I just e-mailed the seller as well to see where he is located and what type of money he is looking for on these.

Joe and Malcolm -

Maybe us Southern boys can group together and bring a haul of them down here at one time and share the expense? Could be that we can make drop stops along the way to people too. I have a couple shipping connections that might work well, especially if we're not in a rush. I'd be glad to coordinate them in Charlotte and disburse them to Hickory, Atlanta, and whereever else they go in the Southeast should we be able to work out something like that.

Just let me know if you want to try that - I think we can ship them to this region less expensively in a mass-haul vs. individually.

Have a great weekend!

Washer storks?

Oh yeah, Hubby would just LOVE that idea!! LOL
I knew I should have bought that pickup truck that my neighbor offered me last year...

So washers and babies both come from storks ;-> I am relieve

The store is in Queensbury, just below Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains--quite a hike, even from here. New York State is bigger than it looks like
on a map. LOL. Or if you're a horse ball, it's north of the Saratoga Race Track.

I'm all for the Paul Delivery truck and Gordon's too; it's all good. This could be a huge, fun undertaking, just like the Aworg Unimatic Plant of the future.

Offline Talk

Sounds like it might work out for all. Let's get a group email together and decide on our wants/needs and then calculate the best route.
