Jon, the black-faced-white outte ring clock in the background. It's battery operated yes? I got that clock as a high school graduation present (1973) in prep for college and it was with me throughout colege. I may still have it around here somewhere. Bob

Well after digging around with my head

in the Freezer box all afternoon. I discovered that the evaporator drain tube is clogged with Ice Mold! So it is backing up during defrost and freezing down along the rails that let the drawer slid out.
Thats why I need a crow bar to get the darn thing open.

The tube is now filled with bleach and soaking overnight. We'll see!

Don't think I didn't notice that

comment Nmaineman, you will be boiled in your own oil!

I just can't believe I let this go so long! Actually its amazing to restore an appliance like this one made in 1978 and then to have it in use for many years only to have to go back into it to keep it running. How many cycles of repair and restore can there be on an appliance?
