When I was a kid, our neighbors had a very similar set.  I was always impressed with the size of the dryer door.

Nice washer - full featured - 1972 or earlier. Dryer is 1973 or later. Washer has 2 wash speeds, 2 spin speeds, separate controls for each, 3 wash temps, 2 wash temps, again with separate controls for each; infinite water level control with mini-basket, optional 2nd rinse. An extremely versatile machine.

The Home Economics department in my high school had almost the exact same washer except if I recall, that one had only three toggle switches, and one of those smaller knobs, not two like the one above has. The dryer was the match to the washer.

I saw an older version of the large door dryer featured above at a resort hotel in Pennsylvania. That hotel had four laundromats with residential washers and dryers; no coin ops at all. I could not believe the size of that thing.
