Roger was kind enough to send me a handle bail, and now the 31 is all back together! Check it out. Strutting its stuff standing up properly. It's real quiet. The bag is either very thick vinyl, or very dried out vinyl. Anywho it muffles the sound of the machine. Just wonderful to use. I love green!

The Eureka is another wonderful vacuum to use. It has a metal base, chrome hood, 2 speeds. Love how those 3.5 amp Eurekas sound. *whispers* I also adore the sound of the 1400 series Eurekas, even though they're so much weaker. This one needs a new headlight lens (missing), but we had one at the shop. It's all I still have to do to it, and it's all ready to go! Along with the original brushroll, I also have a Eureka Cleveland Wood Products double row brushroll. Really tackles that dreadful Plush/berber mix carpteting that it's sitting on. Almost nothing can deep clean that carpeting. Just convertibles and eurekas really.

The Dial-a-Matic was a trade in the other day. One of my favorite models. This one isn't in the best physical shape, but it runs perfectly. I'm gonna use it tons. When they're already scratched up, you don't have to worry as much about the power drive slamming into the wall and furniture legs! The self-propelled DAM performs HORRIBLY on my bedroom carpeting.

I bought the Flair for fun about 3 weeks ago. I love it. I know it's kind of the odd-ball in the bunch here. I keep it plugged in almost all the time, for quick clean ups. It leaves legitimate track lines in carpeting. It has one of the most aggressive and full brushrolls that I have seen in a modern stick vac. Way better than the Dirt Devils and the Eureka Stick vacs made today. Got great suction too. Great for bare floors, my stairs, and the indoor/outdoor carpeting on the porch!

I should get the new constellation either today or tomorrow. Just waiting for it to finally arrive at the shop. I was gonna wait so I could include it in the group shot, but I was so excited to show everyone my finished 31!

Good Times!

Corey

Guarantee letter

The 375 had ceased production in July 1950 and had been replaced by the 119(US 115)- the serial # dates this one as June/July, one of the last to be made- as this one wasnt brought till September I wonder if they got a discount lol!

I LOVE those old UK Juniors! They're so beautiful. Dramatic looking. What's the brushroll on those old Juniors look like? Beefy???

Corey

Excellent pictures Corey...your collection is just AWESOME! Everything looks brand new!

Seamus, love the Junior as well; didn't realize they had a handle-mounted toggleswitch early on!

Corey...beautiful cleaners! I commend you on such a fine gathering of vacuums. Your collection seems to be growing and your latest additions look great. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Seamus...loved the pictures of the "juniors"...such a contrast between old and new.

UK Toggles :)

Hey Austin /all

The only Juniors to have handle switches were the 375 and its predecessor the 370 the 119 onwards had foot switches.

With the exception of the Convertible (as in US DAM) the next time a handle switch appeared on a UK domestic model(excluding the odd US import!) was with the launch of the Turbopower range in 1983.

The reason I state domestic in the above was there was one outstanding commercial exception to this- the 912/912A/U7008 series(US 913/918/U7037???)
