Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I grew up with that same GE Power Shower dishwasher.
What a cool find and in such good condition.
We finally moved up to the front loading Potscrubber
in 1975 when the soap dispenser wouldn't flip anymore
and the repairman said to just buy a new one.

Congratulations!

Patrick

Greg,

Great finds. I have two questions. On the mobile maid, my best friend's mom had an older model and my boss at a previous company had that one in avacado, what does "rinse glo" mean. I am thinking it turns the heating element on. Second on the Kitchen aid, what does the super scrub selection do? I know the Soak & Scub is the pot cycle and on the one i had the heating element was on for the all three washes.

Thanks
MikeO

Mike, Rinse--glo is the Jet Dry dispenser. On the KA, Super Scrub does a delay temp boost on the first pre-wash to 130 or 135 degrees. An option for the Soad & Scrub and Normal Wash cycles. Without the option the water heat didn't happen until the main wash.

Congratulations Greg, It looks like Santa came early this year for you as well. That Bendix is so neat. Have fun with all of your new toys. Terry

thanks folks ........ I don't know about the AC yet, where I have not tried it out myself, I was told it worked great and check this out ........ THE AC WAS PICKED UP IN NEW ORLEANS ONE DAY BEFORE KATRINA HIT ............. ouch ........
Jon, I thought the KA was older than '00.??? But I know its a well made "newer" machine with excellent cleaning capabilities.

You have certainly found some rare AC's from the 50's this year. I love the sound of a 50's piston compressor. That puttering sound is so soothing.

My fav machine is your 59 Kenmore set. What beauties!

Great new stuff Greg! Boy its been a busy summer for all of us. I'm just thrilled you saved that 1939/1940 Bendix washer. If you need help with the process of bolting it down, just let me know.

thanks all and yes Robert, I will gladly take you up on any advice to "bolt-down" the Bendix ........., will talk later
