The Fairmount Park commissioner isn't laughing either. He said it could cost thousands to cleanup the fountain, a bill that taxpayers will have to pick up.

Uhh, dude, just add a bottle of Suavitel. ;-)

All they need is a 2-6 bottles of that cheap pinks stuff and poof the suds are gone and then dump some baking soda or vinagar to balance the water to the correct PH level so there's no need for draining the whole thing since this is not drinking water......

Yep, this regularly happens at ODU as well. One time, while I was going there, a student's dog was running around. The dog jumped in the suds cake that had formed on top of the fountain. You heard some whining and splashing around, I imagine because the dog couldn't see his way out. Eventually, he jumped out, and a big white mass of suds comes running down the quad. The dog then shook all the suds off throwing them everywhere, but then still had some around his snout. Someone else saw this and jokingly said "Mad dog!"

A Phoamy Phenomena

The Mecom Fountain(s) here in Houston were notorious for getting sudsed! There was a time when you couldn't drive by them and find billows of suds pouring out of the bases. I suspect that they are being watched a little closer these days.

That's excellent! There's a circular fountain at the corner of the downtown square in my little burg and someone (no, it wasn't me, but I know the culprit) dumped two big jugs of dishwashing liquid into it in the middle of the night early last spring. By morning, huge 'clouds' of suds were breaking away and flying through the air. It was AWESOME!!

Love the pics but I hope the suds didn't cause any damage to the pumps, etc.

We had a sub-division called Fountain Hills here in Omaha that was constantly being pranked with a bottle of dishwashing liquid in their grand fountain at the entrance. The fountain is gone now...

westex

i was wondering the same thing!!! what would give the most bang for the buck? family size cheap shampoo? huge bag of cheap detergent? large bottle of dish liquid?

soap in the fountain

....and I thought I was the only one who ever thought about doing this....hmmm....wonder if we are all imagining the big loads we could wash in a fountain....???
