Interesting, however living right near the Chesapeake Bay, they are so strict with septic systems, if you put in a new one now, it has to have this nitrate removal system that is very expensive. I don't see any special programs for Maryland. From what I am learning, if you do a lot of laundry and cleaning, you have to replace the active enzimes or bacteria into the system, and it will stay working. Thanks for all the info! Sounds like there are a few options out there depending on where you live.
