While trickin' with the DraWasher thread, I reminded a similar Siemens washer (IQ series ??). Actually it was a little different, as it had no knobs at all and looked more like a Bank-o-mat.
Did exist the Bosch equivalent one ?

I don't think so...

...it was just Siemens.

My brother had reason to use one recently, but he couldn't get the machine to work (the childlock was active). He phoned me and I told him how to deactivate it.

There was a Bosch equivalent. Took me some time to find the Bosch washer without any model number... But here are some pics. As you can see, the Bosch models had On/Off and Start/Pause buttons with one light in the middle, rather than being surrounded by light. The buttons to control the display were a slightly smaller and obviously the door and dispenser were a little different. Shame there never was a matching dryer...

Siemens - Bosch

BauKnecht looks great but ..

Up in in the holidays house we had a Philips ADG 666 (there was the BK twin model too) that lasted even more and washed better than the miele G507 @home.
When it broke, we bought BK GSF 4872.
Despite the 3 spray arms, easy loading and quietness it is a nightmare dishwasher : poor washing power, nasty sieb, issues with electronic board and with lower rack: when normally loaded it bends and blocks lower arm.We have to put 2 knives under the wheels to let the arm spin. Since then no more bauknecht .....thanks to whirlpool :-((

Have seen your Privileg in the ariel thread ..

... it has an italian twin : Zoppas
Zoppas was Zanussi's main competitor. Even if Zoppas appliances were better than Zanussi's, those invaded the market, so the Zoppas family sold brand & plants to Zanussi family and started trading in mineral water...
Then came Electrolux ...

Look: different spin speed, but same "gym" program that is not present on rex.it and zanussi.co.uk machines ...
does the privileg have the variomatic spin ?

Yeah, Bauknecht washers, dryers and dishwashers never always seem to have some issues. For the last few years, our consumer magazine tested Bauknecht appliances and found out that the washers were frequently having problems with their electronics and dishwasher never cleaned too well or - as you mentioned - left chunks of food on the filter.

Um, I think this Zoppas washer is not exactly the same as we have. Our washer still has the old design where you can remove the entire back half of the cabinet (the side panels are two pieces).

The spin cycle, which is also on YouTube ;), is: three tumbles, a spin burst, three more tumbles and then spin. I think this is the standard Electrolux spin.

Is that BK washer still produced in Germany as the BIG/Duet? It looks totally different from the whirpoolish ones (ie the steam model) made in Italy (found it on bauknecht.ch)

As far as I know yes, the Big is still made in Schorndorf, Germany. As a matter of fact, I was in that factory for two weeks as my school demanded us to look for a work placement to gain some experience. So I went to Bauknecht/Whirlpool; "Product Development and Engineering Department" to be precise. Was very interesting.
