I love black cats, and would get one in a second! Our neighbor has a jet black one that is fluffy and just lovely to look at. His name is "The Bandit".
Our male Dachshund's name is Shadow. He is 15 years old, but still quite bossy, and totally willing to pick fights with much younger, bigger dogs and the occassional child. He has had some back problems as well, but he is crate trained, so we are careful to make sure he doesn't jump, and we put him in his crate when we leave the house.
Gladys, our female Dachshund, is younger and a nutcase. She is an attention strumpet and perfectly capable of barking all day long. But she is learning the word "MUZZLE", and that seems to help curb her enthusiasm.
Then we have Crackers, the Pomerainian. He's also a nutcase, but quite a sweetheart. He loves the ladies, and the ladies love him: Anytime a woman comes over, they melt all over him, and he's on his best behavior. Only when they leave does he decide to throw up, or shred a magazine, or eat a sweater.
