Let's have a hand mixer thread...

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

I found a chrome Sunbeam at an estate sale that was in the kitchen so it must have been used, yet it was stored in its box in the pantry so I have the mixer & box if not MIB.

Sandy, like the Lark comment. I can see it, too.

Dormeyer dominates chez nous...

I had to jump in on this one...

Here's the 1964 Dormeyer three-speed hand mixer that I use in the apartment in Montreal (with proof of use - Apricot upside-down cake and corn bread served for a small dinner party on Tuesday)

Since we moved to Ogden in '07, this turquoise 62 Dormeyer has been the daily driver. It was the first hand mixer I found in the dozens of boxes that contained the mixer collection... LOL

And in reserve...

Here's one of the shelves currently housing the hand mixer collection in the loft above the garage. Lots of backup, if I need it... LOL

Here's the other shelf. I've thinned out the hand mixer collection quite a bit in the past few years, alas.

Last but not least - the first mixer I ever used and remember! This was my mothers 1964 Canadian General Electric portable (still with the 'whipping disc')!

In the reply 39, the picture shows twins of the GE stand mixer my mother had when I was a kid (the white one on the floor) and my grandma's sunbeam hand mixer that I still have (the second turquoise from the left).

Here's the one from my grandma, some of the paint has worn off from the aluminum trim...

I also have a white GE like the turquoise Fred showed in the reply#2 (this one is in good condition) and two more Sunbeams from Paul's collection but that's about it for hand mixers!

It appears the Zenith and Dominion pair represent a misguided attempt to design an amphibious mixer.

Real vintage

You all have such real vintage beauties, jeezz! I like those 50's h-mixers, they have so much more style.

Well, thanks to a member here and my luck, here's a few of mine - nothing as grandiose as some of yours..so impressed.

Dormeyer Built!

Hi Rick!

First, good to see the name "Crevicetool" here again!

That Universal Mix-A-Beater is based on the Dormeyer Dormey. It's a clever adaptation; the all-black front cap/handle assembly (is it one piece?) really plays down the Dormeyer connection and makes it look unique.

The Dormeyer ejector and collared beaters are the giveaway if one knows what to look for.

Neat mixer!

Phil, that mixmaster with the burst of power that is in front center if your picture is the one my Grandma Diamond had when I was a kid. Hers was almond and dark brown, she win it in an Avon sales contest.

Petek, I am always amazed at your collection, too. Those are cool machines - Farberware is really space age looking.

Sam - it's surprising to me how people remember appliances that go back to their grandma times. I have another one pictured here, but I like the green one front and center better.

I can tell by many of the ones posted that they were used very little or not at all. Do you all use these once in a while or are they just "on exhibition"? ;-)

Rick!! Love that it's called "Mix-a-Beater". Adorable! Good to see you as always!

Ugh, that Presto is sooooooo cute! Such an anomaly!

Here' a few more of ours... Found the pink Westinghouse at a sale, the blue tag is off of something modern- just looked right. Robert found the middle Sunbeam at a sale long ago, NIB. We found the lower pink Sunbeam at a sale about three years ago. I use the Sunbeam on the bottom most often. The middle one has still never been used.
