Let's Install A Kenmore Automatic Washer

Some basic information...

Now pay attention to each step to make sure it's done correctly...

Last Page - checks & testing

Lay the machine down on it's back - done

Self-leveling legs installed and ready - done

First shipping block removed. Don't you love the foam with the blue specks?

Now we stand the machine back up and remove the shipping bolts and brackets from the rear.

Removed the bolts and brackets and the second shipping block.

 

[gansky1]

Now the water, drain and electrical connections are done.

Thank goodness this washer came with a sample of Tide so we can follow the install instructions and clean our new machine!

Add 1/2 measure to filling washer...

This will be one clean washer!

It looks like you have been ordering appliances from the 1974 Sears catalog.
And you didn't get an error message. They just sent it to you.
I need to try that.

I used to love reading the install instructions that came with our 1976 Whirlpool Imperial washer. Seeing the illustrations of the faucets that needed to be purged before hoses were connected.
I could read that over and over again.

Lets See, can I order a 1980 LK in Harvest gold? what is that item #. Can I put it on my Sears Charge?

I've had about 4 of these models back in 1981ish, when I first started refurbishing appliances. Most in avacodo and with a sudsaver,
but NONE were as beautiful and I'm sure as functional, as yours.

This is the set from Craigslist - Long Island, NY. The seller didn't give any history of this set and had come down on the price from a few months back when they first appeared for sale so I decided that new, never used machines from the 60's don't come along every day...and here they are!

This is the 67 Lady Kenmore dryer as I pulled it from the YouCrate container.
