That is too cool Greg!
What is the story?
It is so cool that you and Robert found a unused Kenmore very close to one another.
Love the instructions!
You followed them well!
Thanks for the pictures!

I've had about 4 of these models back in 1981ish, when I first started refurbishing appliances. Most in avacodo and with a sudsaver,
but NONE were as beautiful and I'm sure as functional, as yours.

This is the set from Craigslist - Long Island, NY. The seller didn't give any history of this set and had come down on the price from a few months back when they first appeared for sale so I decided that new, never used machines from the 60's don't come along every day...and here they are!

This is the 67 Lady Kenmore dryer as I pulled it from the YouCrate container.

look at the gleam in that dryer drum, and no scorching on the heater. For dryer 40 years old, WOW.

What is it about that new appliance smell?
I remember getting the last of the belt drive LK in 1986 in Black.
The dryer was new and it just had this smell of newness.

Oh Greg this is an awesome find for you!
I love the dryer. I think this the best dryer for drying accuracy that Kenmore ever had! Gas or Electric! Fast, and gentle on clothes. I never see this vintage!
How long did they make this drying system. I know some of the dryers, the sensor "moved" around the drum and even baffles at one point.
Awesome set!
Fun!
Thanks.
Brent

Interesting finds. That washer was the identical washer our next door neighbor got in 69-70. And that dryer was our first dryer that my parents bought at the Sears Scratch & Dent outlet in West Haven in 1969. It was obviously two years old, but clearly never used. The electronic sensor dried flawlessly and it was a very quiet machine. I do miss that bubble gum smell of the air freshener.....

Hee Hee Hee!

Do you pull your racks out of your KDS-18 so they can dry on the deck to save? Well if you do, do they dry completely?
I need to follow in your footsteps, but I don't have a line up in the yard yet.
Love the set! Keep looking at them. Hope you don't mind.
Brent
