Top rack with a few positions left open, but it managed to fit everything with space to spare.
I Bobloaded my Miele for probably the last time on Xmas Eve.
Not because I'm dumping the machine -- I love this dishwasher -- but because I've accepted that new age dishwashers can't cope with being crammed full the way I've always successfully managed to do in the past. The spray force/volume of the Miele isn't capable of reaching some of the items perched in places where old school "hurricane in a box" machines would have no problem.
The result is often bits of powder residue in small bowls and glasses from detergent that went flying in the first pass or two of the wash arm during the pre-wash, but subsequently dodged much spray action as the machine cycled through its remaining phases. I've even seen this residue on plates positioned normally between the relatively closely spaced tines at the very edge of the rack.
I can still pack it full using the racks as intended, but the perching and layering that I used to get away with on Hobart designed machines is no longer an option. It's as if packing the bottom rack so thoroughly as to prevent some of its spray from reaching the top rack -- even though the top rack has its own wash arm -- can create coverage issues on the top rack anyway.
I'm OK with it. The Miele is otherwise a far superior performer to any of its predecessors in my kitchen.

I did not have any company this year. But baked and made some soup for presents and managed to fill the KenWhirl and the JennAir RR.
The KenWhirl is the UltraWash and the JennAir is the Maytag but I have to agree with Ralph... Nothing cleans like the Hobart Built machines being the KDS 18 as my favorite machine of all times.

Id be more than thrilled to know more about these machines. All of the 70s-80s Hotpoints here in the US were BOL machines and never had a good racking system. The top racks were probably some of the worst in all aspects, but with a few minor perks like the soil filter I see Im sure they would have been world class machines here in the USA.
