I found this little guy sitting on the side of the road a few years ago with a free sign on it. It is a fridge and freezer! It lives in our Family room, keeping the adult beverages cold. I'm not exactly sure of its age, but I would guess 70's if I had to..It was designed with a non adjustable thermostat, but seems to keep everything just right! My parents had a nearly identical one in white, and my sister actually had a turquoise one for a short time.

1985 Kenmore Kitchen-Mate! Some of you may remember my post here on AW when I found her. It has been a pleasure to have!! This was Sears's Top of the line fridge in 1985! It was the last to have the Porcelain/Plus interior! It also features Moisture Miser, Crisper and Humidrawer,2 Handi-Bin's, and an Automatic Ice Maker! This is a Kenmore 20 series, at 19.6-cu.ft., with a freezer that is 13.72-cu.ft.
My model is white, and according to the 1985 catalog, retailed for $969.99, Plus the Barton Hickory wood panels, which were an extra $149.99. Which brings me to grand total of.....$1,119.98! In 1985, that was a lot of money! But I would have spent it on this unit! Definitely!
I did replace the upper panel with that piece of vintage wallpaper, that wallpaper was once hung here in my home, so I used it as a piece of remembrance, and I just loved the pattern! Now let me stop jabbering on so, and I'll post my pics! Enjoy!

Here's mine, 1953 GE, We actually have a matched pair, they came out of a closed convent.

Purchased new by my Grandmother in 1954. Gram, fridge came to live with us in 1963.
Still works great. Had to fix it once. Thermostat developed carbon short to ground, tripping the breaker. (I had installed a grounded cord previously). That was 20 years ago. She’s a great performer!

I love that little Sanyo side-by-side! If I could find one of those I'd make a platform that would elevate it for easier access. It would fit perfectly where my dead '57 Combo still sits, awaiting its thus far elusive revival.
I wonder if the Sanyo's temperature adjustment is made by turning a screw in some inconspicuous location. That's how the adjustment was made on the globe shaped monitor tops, which were designed for use in rental units.
Here are pix of my '57 back at our previous house, taken during clean-up after it arrived home, and later after it had been moved into the laundry room to serve as our overflow/drinks fridge.

I have a '48 GE single door. A neighbor was relocating up north and was tossing it out. I snapped it up. It does run, but needs a new door gasket (which I have). I don't need its extra space right now so it's been siting in the storage area of the work shop for the last 10 years or so. Eventually I'll replace the gasket and get the door re-painted (it's got some staining on it). I love all the metal inside, though. Beats that plastic crap all to hell. And the thick insulated walls probably mean it's reasonably energy efficient.

I had repainted this (was black) for my kitchen remodel as a backup in case the Philco (posted above) restoration didn't work. As much as I want to keep it, I just don't have the room in my garage so it's going to the ReStore.

The kitchen has never been remodeled. My G.E model 15 was made the same year the house was new..and is a perfect fit for the space. Most of the other Monitor tops would be too tall for he space. As well as many modern refrigerators
