lg front load gallons per fill and outer tubs

Hello everybody, I have some questions to ask.
How many gallons per fill does lg and their offspring front load use? how big and durable is the outer tub? did they just increase the size of the inner stainless steel tub or both the inner and outer? What type of plastic do they use? What makes them so heavy? It'll be interesting to know.

I thought turbocharging was the only way to introduce a lot of dense air into such a tiny chamber....

tub material and fill level

What material is lg's outer plastic tubs? Do they use polypropylene similar to GE's plastic tub machines? How full is the outer tub on the cotton/normal cycle. I noticed that there's no actual fill spout that does a downpour on the turbo wash models, just a fresh water jet that sprays a high powered spray of water and the 2 side jets, some of the later models have 4 circulation jets and a freshwater jet. Is the outer tub fully loaded with water if it seems barely full on the inner stainless steel tub? I'm sure it's very heavy work for the machine to do - moving a huge mass of clothes.

Outer tub

LG outer tubs are plastic. The larger machines as far as I am aware use a larger outer tub since they are wider machines as a whole. Just as the compact machines are smaller as a whole as well. Our Duet has a slightly deeper sump for the steam function, and I would imagine that a majority of machines with a heating element will as well. This will increase water consumption slightly. However, the size of the load and the cycle selected will make the biggest difference in the amount of water in the tub and the outer tub. If you look at Consumer Reports testing of the 4.5 cu ft machines versus the 5.2 cu ft machines, you will see that the water consumption of the 5.2 cu ft machines is slightly higher despite washing the same 8 pound load. I would imagine that the larger outer tub and expectations of a larger load will require the use of more water per fill. On the other hand, our Duet takes about 1.5 gallons before you can see water starting to pool in the bottom of the drum. Hopefully this answers your question?
