lg not heating again

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

from what i am seeing i think that your washer as the atc function and it might affect the heating performance or your washer is hot and cold fill and what cycle do you use normaly? normal/casual gentle or have you tough that it might be a defect in your washer.

what i would suggest you try is

1 start your washer with no clothes the temp you use for a normal load and let it run a full cycle after the heating part of your cycle i would suggest you stop and open your washer door and check the water tempature with a termomiter if it reads your reg temp then its not your washer water heater or it might be that the washer as a sensor that check if fabric can stand hot water as sometime the washer might send cold water to cool down the heated water to preven damage of fabric.

hey

how did u get into the service mode dyson2drums? the other 2 machines i still have they told me to dispose of them when i was refunded so will try it with them all. i have tried it with no clothes its just the same.

Pierre, the European LGs (as with most of our washers) are cold fill only and heat their own water.

Hey micks1979

Hold in the right option button and rinse botton together and then press power. Don't press the start button as it'll start service cycle and with clothes in it will damage the machine/s.

another pcb

well had two service guys today new board still the same! cottons 40 heats to 24 on the plus side mix is working again lol oh and 95 so they have to report back and head office will contact me again! spent all afternoon doing a email to which and watchdog.

Are you using steam wash with all the washes?

The washes I did that I took pictures of and posted in above posts were standard non steam washes.

I did a cottons 40 with steam but had to pop out so will try do another tomorrow.

This must be frustrating, wonder what LG, Which and Watchdog have to say.

hey

dont use steam now on any wash and not using the machine until its sorted so off to work with 7 loads in the morning.

Hello again

I've just done a small load on Cottons 40 with steam that consisted of a cardigan, pair of trousers and a top.

The machine detected the load and decided to take 1:14 and do only do 2 rinses. I had to pop out but when I came back the shower spray was on so the steam wash phase was completed and the heating phase was also completed. I stopped the machine and put it into service mode. The steam temperature was 98 as it had finished the steam phase approximately 10 minutes before I got to it and the water temperature was 34 degrees celcius. I also opened the door and felt the water which was warm.

hey

guess what! cant fix the machine beyond repair money back and dispose of machine. not got the energy for another lg so hotpoint or hoover in black.

That's LG's response then I see!

My aunt bought a Hotpoint ultima WMUD942K in black a few months ago and it's an amazing machine. Very quiet, decent drum size, flexible programs and handy options like time saver, extra rinses and much more.

Was over last weekend so did 4 loads in it, it performs very well and the water levels vary on every load.

The new models (same model number) seem to have Cotton Standard 60, 40 and 20 programs instead of Cottons 90, 60 and 40. However you can select higher temperatures such as 90 by using the variable temperature button.

All the best with what you decide to purchase.

cheers still keep an eye on yours! im not letting it go with lg just need a washing machine thats heats water lol so i now have 3 lg machines what a waste.

Thanks, I will keep an eye on it. From what i've found so far it seems to be fine and I hope it stays that way.

Definitely a waste, do keep us informed on what you replace it with.

the solution is simple

if the internal water heater do not work then the solution is just plain simple wash in cold water or just send a complaint letter to the store where you bought your washer and have it exchange for another brand other than lg or look to see if you can connect your washer to a hot water connection?

Hotpoint

The Hotpoint might look fancy and full of features on the outside, but I can almost guarantee that it's cheap and nasty Indesit engineering inside...

We had a 'top of the line' Aqualtis AQ9D-69I (look at my YouTube video link!) and when we first bought it, it came with a faulty control panel which a Hotpoint engineer changed out fairly quickly. Anyway, the insides were pretty dire... a low quality sealed plastic wash tub, cheap looking plastic shock absorbers etc. :)

Anyway, it ended up breaking a few months short of its two year anniversary, which appeared to be some kind of motor failure because it wouldn't spin up properly and the wash would end with a failure code.

Costco always seems to have great customer service and took it back with no issues for a full refund and we got a Maytag Intelliwash 9kg machine (model MWA 09149 WH/1) which I believe might be some Swedish brand rebadged? I'll try to post internal photos of that soon, because it has a full stainless steel (serviceable) wash tub and so on; very nice quality!

Where did you see that they were made by Maytag China, btw?

I know that Maytag have had some of their European sold washers manufactured by Swedish manufacturer Asko (same as who make the ISE under contract) and there seem to be some sources for that on the web (like the ukwhitegoods site for instance)...

If you have some info on the Maytag China connection for the European washers now that would be interesting :)
