Hey,

Ill cut to the chase, I have a customer with a LH12NJ1, serial# UN647678 manual defrost fridge. Its nice. The compressor is starting for a hot second, then shuts off for aboout a minute . Its like it never gets out of the start winding. This fridge has the compressor with 4 terminals, the extra being an aux start winding. There is also a resistor on the frame of the fridge.

I believe the start relay is bad based on the symptoms, someone please chime in if im wrong

Does anyone know:

1. What the spec resistance for that resistor is? The manual doesnt say
2. Can I just not use the auxiliary start winding? If thats the case life gets pretty simple.
3. Anyone got a WR7X26 relay? a spare resistor?

Is it a 'Combination' refrigerator and freezer? It sounds kinda like my LW11N1 issue that I had about 6 years ago - but in my case, the compressor shut off within seconds...

If it helps, a 9-ohm, 130volt resistor solved the problem for me.

Yes! Mine was mounted in a frame (see picture attached). I can't recall where I got the replacement now however...

The original GE part number for mine was WR52X11; I have a feeling the one in the auction link I have posted would also work.
