Line drying clothes

I actually enjoy the exfoliating properties of a line-dried bath towel. I dry my back first, which gets a nice scrubbing. That dampens the towel just enough for the fibers to get soft, again.

Our electricity is so cheap---- $.07 per KwH---that I don't notice a significant drop in my electric bill when line drying. My motivation comes from saving wear and tear on my dryer. I save it from over 100 drying cycles each year.

The added bonus is the wonderful smell of line-dried items, especially bedding.

Hang in a breeze for softer towels.

This is a shot from last year, but I've had several weekends of full-lines this Spring already. If it's above 40, I'll put washing out. The very best smelling sheets on earth are those dried on the line and the ultimate are sheets dried on a snowy day -really!
The small square hanging with the single pin is the Purex 3&1 detergent/softener sheet. I hung it out with the clothes but I don't think that's what they meant ;-)

With in 30 mins you wont have a thing they will all be stolen. And will end up at one of about 15 flea markets..

The same thing will happen at any laundrymat in town

There are "watchers" just waiting for you too leave and in 5 mins they are all gone.. It is said that some have "ties" with the attendants and they pay them to "call them" when some one leaves.. just life here. nothing new at all.

Hey fellows Love hanging clothes we where hangers in our family.
Don't really mind hard towels but prefer a little softer towel.
Tim i like your method...
But laundress gave me this method and thank you.
Ok i did a load of towels today and here's how it went.
Five light towels ...
1/4 cup of Tide with bleach & 1/4 Arm & Hammer super washing soda
in a Bosch washer.

No wrinkles at all

ducks and runs to those who say that high speed spins make a lot of wrinkles

I guess your big Bosch makes pulse spins [spin- tumble/fluff - spin - tumble/fluff ...], doesn' it ?

Favorit ...Nooo pulse spins it is one pre spin then a rev up to 1000 holds there for
about two minutes then another rev up to 1200 holds there for about three minutes.

Really for heavy cotton items i spin high even in my Asko at 1600 rpm's i still really don't have a wrinkle problem shake them out and hang or dry in the dryer
the dryer takes out the wrinkles don't no WHY people go crazy about high spin speeds for heavy cotton.

Now on other fabrics like sheets and shirts delicate items get a much slower spin speed ...and yes the Bosch do's have a Reduce iron feature which does pulse and i use it for dress shirts but for basic cotton t shirts and towels, jeans,
High speed spins.

Here is a shirt of the line i take three shirts at a time of the line and they get
spread out and lay flat until i fold them not perfect , if i am working or going out then i will iron the items and then perfection lol.

Hey i don't let the clothes set in the basket or in a dryer for days, like the rest of america and take them out to wear them i see a lot of that out in public this guy on the train the other day, just put on kakis and you no he took them right out the dryer that has sat all night talking about wrinkles.
Favorit here is two shirts off the line, and they where spun at 1200.
Maybe some of the other members have a different opinion.

we here hang dry everything! for loads that consist of towels and washcloths i use an extra rinse we use liquid detergents and fabric softener i have no scratchy clothes or wrinkled ones either. i fold and put the good clothes away immediately after there dry. clothes feel nicer hang dried and this is coming from someone who once loved tumble dried clothes!

I always do the same as you do
IMHO the "shake thing" while unloading clothes from the washer is the actual "secret" to forget about the iron ....i just hang polo and dresshirts on hangers

IMHO iron is a mineral, not a small appliance *LOL*

That the first time I saw a Bosch Nexxt washing on a photo! There are so little photo's and videos of it! Aha the shakingsecret! My grandmother thought me to actually shake and fold the laundry when unloading it from the washer, and it take a bit of time but when doing it, the wind irons most off the creases out!
