This is what was recommended for the Kaiser aluminum dishwashers that did not use electricity. Because it was made for the aluminum machine, it is probably not as alkaline as standard dishwasher detergents. Actually, the fact that it has not eaten its way out of the can in over 60 years is testament to that. How many here remember when liquid hand dishwashing detergents and Wisk came in metal bottles?

Interesting...particularly that it's a GAF product (they made the Viewmaster among other things like flooring and photo film) but weren't a big player in household chemicals...
