Was wondering if anyone here has the old ariel liquid dosing ball from the 80's that i could buy? Been looking for one for ages on ebay but to no avail. Is there any one here who could help me?

Those Arilette Balls Are Rare

Along with being highly collectible.

Have only seen one pop up on eBay recently and it went for *BIG* money.

Am wondering if a Downy fabric softener ball would work as they are far more easily found and not so dear.

Am guessing scores if not hundreds of those Arilette balls were chucked into the rubbish by housewives and others. This because they either went back to powders and or because washing machines began to offer liquid detergent dispenser systems.

Those big balls dissapeared when the dosing of most liquid detergents had changed.
Back then it was either 120ml for soft and medium water or 180ml for hard and very hard water.
When liquid detergents became a bit more concentrated (75ml for a standard load instead of 120ml) and dosing instructions got more refined (taking soil levels into account) they became pretty much useless and were replaced with smaller ones.
