I purchased some Liquid Tide (Original Scent) last night. There seems to be a new, more mellow scent to the product. I found it to be pleasant and not overwhelming at all. Not sure if I just got a funky batch or what but I liked it!

Tide Essentials with Baking Soda:

Saw a case of the stuff in "White Lilac" scent up for auction, but gave it a pass for various reasons. First it was a liquid, and Tide liquids are notorious for over sudsing, especially the non-HE versions. Next, after spending quite a bit of time on the telephone with a P&G/Tide customer service person, was told no such animal existed, nor was going to far as their records were concerned.

No huge loss pour moi, still have a huge full bottle of that damn Tide "Roses and Lavender" liquid detergent that one hardly ever uses. The scent is just too powerful, and like all other scented Tide detergents, it just does not wash out/go away. Even Tide with Bleach has a scent which one can smell several launderings later coming out in the wash water.

Arm & Hammer Essentials with Baking Soda:

Actually just saw bottles of this while down at the shops earlier, and rather like the scent. Think it was called "Moutain Fresh". Product contains soap (is that the newest detergent fad?), and IIRC a member rated it VERY high sudsing, so it is off my list as well. Though the fragrance is so tempting, could always try another member's trick of adding carpet defoamer! May give it a whirl should it ever go on sale, or if smaller packaging comes out.

I think, Laundry Lady from the Big Apple, that for some exotic mistake, not planned, that Tide Cold Water Liquid has a terrific scent that is in fact cool and refreshing, whether line dried or machine dried in a Maytag DG906. It cleans really well in the coldest of well water at my summer home or my home in the city. Try it and see if it seems to do the same for you, down in the Bronx,Manhattan,Brooklyn, and Staten Island too? The state of New York has the best water in the world! I now use it for everything, hot, cold or warm. What do you think about this product? Have you used it? I think it is really great, but rarely goes on sale.

Liquid Tide Original Scent

I just starting using this again. I remember when it first came out--it smelled wonderful. I think it's gone through many scents over the years, but I really like the "original" they have today. Who knows if it's "original?" Who could remember?
