Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Yay! I've wanted a minty one of these for a long time; it's the vacuum my next door neighbor had when I was little. Definitely my favorite Eureka! I saw the handle sticking up from behind a table--low an behold it was that model! Yay!! It's gonna need a good scrubbing (smoker's house), but I have no doubt it will clean up just wonderfully!

That dishwasher looks like it is possibly a Westinghouse or White-Westinghouse product.  If not, probably a rare D&M product of some brand.  The control panel looks too conservative and unflashy to be a Kenmore lol.

Fred, I remeember seeing that vac in the stores.  It's one of my most favorite color schemes of vacs from that era.

Wow!

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">You guys are having fun and good luck!</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">I knew that was a Lady Kenmore the second I saw the picture!  </span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">I have not seen that model in 100 years!  </span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">Can't wait to see the insides again!</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">Congratulations on the neat finds!</span>

Good catches!

Robert, when you can.....I'd be grateful for a shot of the cycle buttons.

Fred...that is one nice Eureka.

Ding Ding Ding!

Wow, I'm feeling pretty good about myself.  I spotted the LK wording on that dishwasher right away!

What do I win?

That Eureka really brings back memories.  My mother used to clean a nearby church to make a little pocket money when I was a kid and I used to help her vacuum with one just like that!

I've always wanted to play with a Roto-Rack

Its a 1965 Lady Kenmore, 150 degree model. There was also a 180 degree model, I suspect all I would have do to change that is change the thermostat.

The inside looks like very little use, no rust in the sump what so ever.

I'll get better pictures later on in the weekend when I have time.

Guys, what a great day for you both!  Fred, that Eureka looks beautiful.  Can't wait to hear more about the Dishwasher Robert!!  That is one Lady Kenmore that I sure don't remember.

Thank you for sharing.

Ralph, you win a self-congratulatory pat on the back. If you are unfamiliar with the technique, any politician and most managers will be able to show you how.

Robert, in the catalog, the 180F machine in the builtin version used 220 volts and had that double wrapped heating element like in John's KM DW with the 180F water button. I could make out the words LK on the door, but have never seen such an understated LK anything. You would almost expect the absence of panel hoopla to be made up for by bells or chimes to signal things happening. Do you suppose the brown on the control panel is nicotine from the air or the user's fingers or just dirt buildup? I wonder if the vinyl used in 1965 was still turquoise?

Greg,

Forget the wife...I want her stove!

That washer is mildly intriguing. It would take a lot of effort to rustle up the resources I would need to go and collect it however. I am also not a fan of Avocado.

Love your new wife Greg!!!

That's right Tom, I forgot the 180 degree model was a 220 volt machine!

Here is the money shot. Dishwasher needed the hose to the upper spray replaced, a new uni-coupler as the old on was cracked. There is also a leak, I'm hoping its not coming from the pump shaft seal, not sure yet.

<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: georgia,palatino;">Fantastic looking dishwasher Robert!</span>

<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: georgia,palatino;">Brent</span>

Yes, Greg, and just look how proud that wife is standing next to her beautiful turquoise Frigidaire Range!!!  You won't have to get her another thing for years!!!

Greg now that is true love. Buy a new stove and you get a free wife.

Lol

Bring home a modern stove and all you get is a heap of junk.

Robert and Fred you guys look like you are having too much fun at the sales! The guy across the street is probably questioning all our sanity. Lol

YAY for you guys!

Robert and Fred - the vacuum and dishwasher are great. So much out there still to be found. I'm sure you will have that dishwasher running like new and of course that vacuum will clean up very easily.

Greg - Love the new wife. I would have grabbed that too! The stove is looking great as well.

Happy Fathers Day weekend!

Congrats Robert and Fred on you're excellent finds! Love the roto-rack dishwasher, had me fooled at first, I was with Bob on that one thinking it was a Westinghouse. I've been hunting for estate sales here in Halifax, can't find anything yet... Sweet find though!
